Lodge-Style Home Experiences The Columbia Roofing Advantage

Baltimore, Columbia Roofing had the pleasure of installing the roof for Kip Fulks' lodge-style home project in Northern Baltimore County. Kip, Senior Vice President of outdoor and innovation for Under Armour, and his wife Beth, built their dream house melding his rustic, outdoorsman style and her fashion forward, refined taste.
Decorator and advisor, Susan Major, owner of the Hestia Design Group in Columbia, was a key player in the housing project which started in 2006. Ensuring that the Fulks' house would feel like a home, Major was careful to ensure that the design would be contemporary and rustic, balancing distressed and polished.
Keeping with the primary objective for the "retreat," the couple chose a timber frame, rambling-style home reusing the materials found in an old barn on the property. The 25 foot high cathedral ceilings add drama to the great room. The Cedar shake and stone material, along with a sharply angled tin roof completed by Columbia Roofing continues the rustic but refined theme on the exterior.
"We wanted to build a house where we could grow old together," said Kip Fulks, the 37-year-old. "[So] we had to build a home that would be exciting to wake up to every day."
